4 Steps to Permanent Change

It helps us to read facts, but obviously this is not enough. There are 4 steps to change including nutritional balance, deep relaxation & awareness of thoughts & emotions & positive imagery that is placed with the mindbody tools of interactive self-hypnosis...Elizabeth Bohorquez, RN,C.Ht

Those who read my books, articles or work with my CD or mp3 programs do know that blood pressure is a major killer, as well as being associated with many chronic disease states. We are now seeing a rise in the number of children having blood pressure problems. Many people don't even think about their blood pressure. Hypertension is high blood pressure that remains elevated over a period of time. This condition can be a symptom of something else going on in your body or, uncontrolled, it can signal problems to come.

Keeping your blood pressure under control is tremendously important to your overall health. High blood pressure is one of several factors associated with cardiovascular disease, which is the number one killer of Americans...both men and women. Cardiovascular disease claims more lives annually than all cancers combined, killing approximately one million people in the U.S. each year. It disables countless others.

It's helps to understand that everything is connected. Obesity is not just an expanded waistline. It is a message from the body that things are out of balance. When the internal body chemistry is out of balance, so are the hormones and other regulators. Blood pressure is one of these. If you are over-sugaring, the blood sugar levels are affected and the involved hormones are responsible for other changes. It's a matter of "the chicken and the egg." It is very important to get all the risk factors in line. These include managing weight with a lower-fat and lower-sugar eating plan, stop smoking, reduce or remove all alcohol, manage stress with an ongoing stress management program, and of course with your doctors permission, a healthy exercise program.

Most people answer to this type of plan with denial or procrastination. It usually takes a major life event to move people to change. Self-discipline is not a forte for most people, and this gets them in very hot water. As you read my articles & work with my programs you will be learning the tools of inner and outer motivation. These are the tools of self-discipline and permanent lifestyle change. Make no mistake, paying the piper can be very expensive, often costing the price of a life.
